I have done some searching on this but mostly only found locking collar stuff. I have the chaincase off and the circlip on the driven side off and the shaft does not want to come out. I have been tapping the chaincase side attempting to get the shaft and bearing out the driven side but it will not budge. Is there another way??
got it, I am not putting my torch away the rest of this build...LOL! Has anyone changed these bearings out and used an aftermarket bearing with locking torx screws like the speedo bearing has as opposed to the split collar?

many of us just tapped (banged) it using a hammer and block of wood. I have not seen anyone here use some type of set screw set up. I think that you will be happy with the post-2004 locking collar setup, they were pretty slick and I have not read of any failures.
do you have a part number?
