Hey all!! Just got my old rx1 turbo fired up after a year and a half. It idles nice and smoke free at first then starts smoking like crazy. Im thinking its comin from my turbo. Just wondering if theres a way to pull it apart to determine if thats it? Any and all help would be great. Thanks for your time!!

Not too many turbo guys left here I guess. I wonder if you should ask the same ques in the sr viper forum. same setup and there nearly all turbo in that forum.

Easiest starting point: Take off the inner cooler and look for oil. If the inner cooler has oil then the charge tube probably has oil also. Disconnect the charge tube back at the turbo. Use a rag and compressed air to push oil out the front of charge tube. Use rag at front of charge tube, because oil will fly everwhere if tube has a lot of oil. You will probably find a lot of oil. Then you determine why the oil. May need smaller jet in oil line going to turbo. This all applies to a rear mounted turbo.

Check the oil return line. If it is kinked or pinch the charge tube will fill with oil. You will also need to clean the sensor AFR as it will be contaminated with oil.

Pretty sure i figured it. I somehow broke an exhaust valve. The sled ran fine when the starter quit 2 seasons ago. Fixed starter then fired right up but was smoking. Found what looks like a valve in the exhaust. Looks like ill be parting it out. Does anyone know if the turbo could work on my nytro? Can i cut my intercooler down to 3?
