Stomper after 100 miles with seafoam in oil did it help rings

Not sure yet. That's all I got on it befor I bent the a arms. So it's sitting now waiting for parts. I would check but it might not give me an accurate reading on the sled stand. I doubt it because I think it is a ring issue but I will keep you posted.

Thanks, I just put 3oz in motor yesterday, hope I can get some snow to work it for some miles, been running it in garage to get it soaking in, good luck with A-arms.

Just an update that I promised I would do about the sea foam in the fuel and in the oil of my 03 rx1. I did the treatment in the spring of 2014 on the last ride of the season then changed the oil. It was black as black could be. Must have cleaned out some carbon. About 50 miles into the 14/15 season I took out the left side a arms and bulkhead and that was it for the rx1 for that season. I rode the wife's attack for that season. The rx is all fixed now and I just did a 226 mile ride yesterday and boy am I feeling it today. Sucks getting older. 120 miles into the ride the oil was down to 1/4 on the dipstick. Doing the math suggests that I would get 160 miles until the oil hits the add mark on the dipstick. That's the same as it was before the treatment. Guess I just have to accept the fact that I have an oil burner but at least it has fresh oil all the time

Ah here

Yamaha has published and sent a service bulletin out regarding the crankcase breather hose freezing up in extreme cold conditions. This will cause the valve cover gasket to push out from higher than normal internal engine pressures.

Their fix for this is to put a 3/4" slit on the crankcase breather hose.

Just thought I would pass this on.

It's a lot of work. These aren't two-strokes where you could just pull off the jugs. You have to pull the motor and go in through the crank case. More work than most people want to do, so they just keep feeding it oil and pray for an Apex some day.
