Hi, guys im new here, so this is my first question.
Im about this close _ to buying my first ATV,
Ive ridden dirt bikes since I was 10 and raced NETRA hare scrambles.
Anyway heres the question, will I be dissapponted with the power
of an 05 Kodiak 450?
I think this is the right machine for me because of the smaller size
ie W.B., Length, Width etc as I will be riding in VERY tight woods.
(New England)
But what about the occasional fire road or mud hole will this
machine have enough snap?
So far I have ridden/borrowed a KFX 700, Prarie 650, Prarie 360,
Raptor 660 and ridden a few Banshees so this is what I have as a
baseline.
Please, sport machines are out of the question so don't reccomend one. Also I work at a Yamaha/Kawasaki/Polaris dealer so ill be choosing a Yamaha product.
Thanks in advance
Jim :-o

I would say that if you are worried about being dissapointed by it, to, if you are able to, go with the Grizzly.

just go with the 450. it will be enough for a good start and when you are ready you can upgrade to a grizz or its replacement.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I love the Grizz my only problem with
it is its size/nimblenes, again a lot of tight woods.
Im gettimg the 450 on Mon!

Thanks
Jim

The 450 is a great machine...you wont be unhappy until you drive a Grizz....the power and size is the difference. The 450 is more nimble.

Well I picked up the new ride on Mon, (450 Kodiak 05)
so far it seems like a good rig.
First off it thinks it's part mountain goat, it will climb the
steepest most rock/root infested hill I can find.
I love the layout of the machine and the all in one
digital gauge.
Power seems a bit down but in all fairness it's still not
broken in, I only have ten mi on it so far.
I guess I can always jet and pipe it if need be.
Anyway thats all for now, thanks for the replies.

Jim
