05 rage belt smell

whenever first starting from a stop, either in forward or reverse, there is a bad burnt belt smell. i have 5000kms(3000 miles) oringinal belt and its always done this, any cures? the belt doesn't look too badly worn either.

Does it squeel as well ? My Rs Venture used to do that I removed the spaces on from the bolts on the back of the secodary clutch . Before I did that I blew a apart two belts .I went threw two seasons on the third one .

I would still try removing the spacers .You should probably replace the belt as well .It is hell when they blow ,second one cut my lower rad hose and I had to replace it . I made a guard to cover it for the next time .I only got 3500 km out of the first two belts .

My belts seem to last about 3000 km before they give out.

This third belt has lasted two seasons about 6000 KM .The only thing different is I took the spacers out .
