I have a 05 rage with very little miles on and its pushing a lot of oil into air box?? engine is not over full, is there a breather valve that could be stuck and pressurizing the crank case? I am sure others have had this problem but no one ever seems to give the answer to fix it. Help!!!!

Has the sled been running on its side recently?

I would suspect a stuck valve or rings next. I have seen it happen on an rx locally with low milage.

How are you checking the oil level? the engine should first be warm and you do not screw the dip stick in when checking oil level. If the there is to much oil it will self correct by pushing it out in the air box. Also, if the sled has been rolled to it's side it will push oil into the box.

there is exactly 3 quarts of oil in the system, sled has not been on its side, as I read more there has been a lot of problems with this. has to be something with the junk set up with the venting system. I have 4 apex's and there is no oil that goes to the air box. this sled has 300 miles on it. I will post the problem when I tear into it myself then everyone with a problem will know just where to look for the fix. I wish it was as easy as taking a half a quart out and all is well but that's not the case and I seem to dought everyone with this problem has internal engine problem.

05 with 300 miles? It obviously has done a lot of sitting. How does it run?

There's always oil being pushed through the engine venting system in the air box. It drains back to the engine through a line that is attached to the bottom of the air box and runs to the stator cover. If it's not attached it'll drop a lot of oil in a hurry which is a indication of how much oil goes through there. The drain line may be blocked or pinched.

My 06 rage pumps allot of oil through the air box. I found this out one day when the return line became plugged. I had a trail of oil all the way back to the shop. After cleaning out the return line I to was worried about the amount of oil being pumped into the air box. It has never given me any more problems yet.
