Are you talking about the stock black plastic wheels that are 40 bucks with the non-replaceable bearing? I did not think they were half the weight...?
I was already going to replace them with the blue Yami wheels with the replaceable bearing until someone mentioned trying the poo wheels. I don't like the fact that I have to buy a whole wheel when the bearing is junk!
 
The Mono shock is rebuildable, but getting the parts is hard. We changed the valving on mine last year using Penske shims.

my Mono skid ate hyfax, low snow wheels helped, but that skid has allot of drag. No way around it short of taking the hyfax off and adding about 20 wheels to it.
