I'm new to Yamaha, my first time with the Proaction. I gone through old threads trying to determine a good setup, but still confused.
Currently the sled is setup as from factory/dealer. I verified the stock settings in the manual and thats what is set on the sled. I weigh about 180 -185 lb with gear.
I put my first 500 miles on this past weekend and I had a hard time in the corners. I'm coming off an 03 ZR which I could rail under the corners. I understand these are very different machines and wasn't expecting it to handle like my ZR but there must be some tweeks to get it closer.
I had quite a bit of inside ski lift ( I'm very use to that but this was alot)and also a lot of push in the corners. The sled seemed very tippy, not body roll but tippy. Trails had good snow cover but were very hard packed. Also any throttle (even just mild throttle) in the turns seems to transfer almost all weight and bite off the skis. Bump setup seemed good.
From threads I've read I'm thinking I should:
1). Loosen ski springs to lower front end, slightly.
2). Tighten up the limiter strap about 3/4"
3). Adjust transfer rods for less transfer.
Does this sound like a good plan ??? Thanks ahead of time.

Tighten up the front strap 3/4, loosen the front shock to no preload, this will lower your front. Lossen the spring load on front shocks to 0 and try it. THen adjust your front shocks according to snow conditions. THe best is to get a 13mm saway bar fron Pioneer Perf. and that will help with the body roll in the corners.

Sledhead: When you say "front shock preload to no preload" you are talking front skid shock. correct ?
And when you say "Lossen the spring load on front shocks to 0 " you mean the skis, correct?
So set both front skid shock and ski shocks to basically no preload, just enough to keep the spring tight ?
I'm close to Pioneer so I could get the 13mm fairly quickly and easily.

Put a set of Simmons skis on, I know that sucks but it will change the way the sled drives, corners, floats, stability. All around much much better.

I have a 04' warrior and experienced lift and push too. Push and lift aside, you have very good all around sled.
Now back to push and lift...I dealt with the it all last season. Reducing the ski shock spring preload helped reduce lift some (body roll). During harder riding on harder snow/ice, the sled pushed with the stock 4" carbides and with 6" doolies (even more). I didn't touch the limiter straps or center shock preload but I think that tightening the limiters shoud keep more pressure on skis and help reduce pushing. If your'e running the stock carbides, take em' off and go to single 6 or 8 inchers. Reducing weight transfer should keep the skis down if you accell. in a turn.
My cure: this season, I put on simmons flexi skis on. The lift is greatly reduced and the push is darn near gone. They track well on trail and float good off trail too.
I'm going with the 13mm stabil bar next keep the skis down even more.

I think you are going in the right direction. What I have learned about setup, is only make one change at a time. The last change I would make is to reduce the front spring tension. This will result in increased bottoming if you ride on rough trails, and it sound like you like the current performance.
I would first tighten up the limiter, see how it rides. If you find it still transfers to much on accelleration I would then adjust the coupler. Then start playing with the spring tension.

I played with the setup on my 04 wariror a lot and it got better (slightly) This year i did Ohlins up font and after a few clicks on the shocks (harder) i found a pretty good solution. Its not like my SX but itll do.
