G’day lads,

I’m new to the Yamaha family I picked up an 06 apex for a screaming deal but I’m starting to see why it was so cheap. I had code set 84 and 42 come up on the cluster and a constant flashing yellow light. I bypassed the tors to eliminate that for now during diag, checked the pickup for the speed sensor and cleaned the ribs to ensure proper signal all ok there. Checked speed sensor found broken wire insulation at the sensor where it bends figured some corrosion worked it’s way down the line into the sensor causing no pick up. Installed new Yamaha sensor and still no speedo, disconnected battery over night and tried running on stand for about a minute straight still nothing. When sled warms up it’ll stall but when cold it’ll idle. Checked cluster to see code set and found 11,15,22,30,81,84 but no 42. I’ve seen guys say that there’s relays that may go bad or ecu I don’t have err 01 which I’ve heard means ecu has left the party. Any help would be appreciated

Also does anyone have a link for the workshop/wiring diagrams?

become a site vip and i can send you a copy of the service manual.

I paid to be vip but that was within the past hour is it an immediate thing?

mrsled needs to activate you 1st and then i can get you the manual.

Mrsled got me the manual hopefully I can get er figured out!

Check over for corroded ground blocks and mice chewed wiring.

Ya I stumbled onto the ground blocks last night when doing some more research, I’ll check in the next couple days appreciate the feed back

BTW, welcome to the best damn website on the internet. You will find a lot of information and very knowledgeable people on here. Also IMHO the best NA factory sled out there.
