i have an 06 apex that i cant seem to get to run right...sled starts up perfect then idles for a minute or so then starts popping out the exhaust and idles down and stalls..tried a new set of plugs did the same thing...tried another new set of plugs same thing...had one bad coil so i changed that out..seems once the sled warms up slightly it wants to act up..checked throttle position sensor tests ok..unplugged the voltage regulator and seems to idle up a bit..no codes come up on sled...is it possible the ecu is bad?? any other ideas?

Hum.. thats a new one to me.. Usually the motor is the strongest point of these machines. Hopefully someone else who is a little more help than me will chime in...

Have you put in new donuts. I've seen this on sleds that need new donuts.

sounds to me like one of the sensors is giving bad info to the ecu
cold it runs ok but when warm it has a problem?
maybe the coolant temp sensor prob. not the intake air sensor
or its still ignition could b a bad injector or fuel problem
sorry no real help, but good luck
keep us posted

There was a TY member on here i believe his name was Apex2006 that had some real strange running issues with his apex.had his battery checked and it did'nt have the right voltage, even tho the sled started and ran,it ran but not right.these sleds NEED a strong battery.replaced battery and just like that the problem was fixed.has not had an issue since.not sure if you had your battery checked, but if its the original battery that may be your issue. his battery was the original 06..

update...
tried to charge battery for an hour and kept the charger on while doing this...same problem...sled popping and wanting to stall..did some more digging..checked charging voltage with sled runnin..at 14.1 volts..so charging system is good...removed coil harness and checked for shorts and opens..ok..checked stator resistance and runs at .4 ohms spec is .2 ohms at 20degrees...sled is at -20 so that should be good...pickup coil is measuring .4 kilo ohms which is 400 ohms..spec is 189-231...so that seems ok too...no codes either..still cant pinpoint

Dump some SEAFOAM in your gas...it sounds like bad gas, make sure your COILS aren't ARCING, use some DIELECTRIC GREASE on plugs and rubber boots, check your sensor on the left side of the airbox make sure its connected and free of any ICE
Here's another member with simular problems...

This sounds alot like the coroaded harness problem those with aftermarket tuning devices experianced, check main harness plugs for corosion.

thanks for the tips guys...when i first changed to the new set of plugs it ran perfect for about a minute then started acting funny...next step is to check the coils for arcing...the temp sensor should be good ive had just about every sensor unplugged checking the harness and pins..
