How difficult is it going to be to put the '06 Apex suspension and track on my '03 R-1? Has anyone out there done this?

None of the holes will line up. Drill new front holes, mount the drop plates, bolt it on. Should take about 20 minutes if you have all the exact measurements. As for the track.... well, if they're both 15x121 (which they are), then installing one on the other is like installing its own. Nothing to worry about here. Chaincase disassembly and reassembly is a pain though.

i did mine, if you have the front mount plates for the 05 rx1, they line up with about 5 factory rivits, line them up and drill out about 20 rivits that are in the plate threw your tunnel, then you can remove or trim the centre brackets out for your old skid, actually you have to do that first as they hit on the plates.the back holes line up perfect. To mount it bang on buy the o5 plates, they are perfect. makes mounting stress free. I also turned my remote adjust shock around to adjust it with a tool i made rather then drill out the tunnel. so many peaple had trouble with the cable, it only takes a second to go undr and sjust the shock. You honestly wil not believe the difference in those skids, it is amazing, but get the fatboy spring first, the extra weight of the 03 rx sucks up the factory spring hard, any info lmk, it is a breeze couple hours tops, also by just trimming the centre brackets to get you plates to fit you can put back the old skid when you sell it
