I need your help with putting the chaincase back together after service. Does the drive sprocket and reverse gear float on the reverse gear shaft?? If they don't, the drive sprocket, which is mounted on the reverse gear shaft closest to the bulkhead would be rubbing on the bolt that holds the reverse gear shaft on the chain case. I am sure I have all the components and in the correct order-- Washer,Drive sprocket, spring,Reverse gear and then washer--.. any input?
Also does anyone know where I can get the appropiate tools to torque the bults and nuts in the chaincase, without the shafts turning. The dealer wants CRAZY money for the tools.
Thanks
Matt

Try and do all the work inside case at one time, or you will forget what gos where. Also try to put everything in order as it comes off. that way you will remember which gos where in order. 36 M/M is the big bolt and My dealer let me borrow theirs. Good luck! Don't tell the wife you forgot how it gos back together!

I appreciate everyones responses, but I feel confident it is put together correctly. I just don't know if the gears on the reverse gear shaft float and self align. If they don't either I DID put it back together wrong or something is not right. The inner gear on the reverse gear shaft has a washer between it and the bracket that holds the shaft. If the gear is pushed all the way in and rotation is attempted, the gear will rub on the bolt that secures the bracket to the chaincase. ANyone have any additional comments.
Also can anyone tell me where I can get the tool to torque the nut on the upper gears.
Thanks Guys
