I have an 06 attak that I changed the chain case oil on. Reverse has always worked and worked after I changed the oil also. I took the cover off to look things over and all looked good so I put it back together. When I visually look at the linkage when I try and put it in reverse it "seems" like the bottom lever does not want to engage. I tried lightly prying on it with a screwdriver and it doesn't want to go into gear. It makes me wonder if the washer on the small reverse gear might have come off. I can hear no grinding in it at all. I rode 50 miles today and only noticed it when I went to put it in the trailer. I haven't checked all the linkage out but do not think that is the problem since when I try to engage I can feel the pressuse of wanting to go a little more.
I have tried to put it in gear while running thinking just a little gear mismatch but this does not work either....two questions is one. I assume take it apart again and look things over...and two the bigger question do you think it is going to hurt anything to run it this way with all the snow we have I don't want to miss out the next couple of days.
Thanks for reading and any response you might give.
