I had to adjust the linkage on my reverse last fall, now when getting my sled around it's grinding again. I just put new bearings in the drive and Jack last fall. What is causing the thing to basically go slack and not fully engage?

did you lose the little spring in the chain case?

What thor452 said, and, double check your chain tension adjustment and ensure tension bolt is locked, they do back out.

On mine one bolt top of case comes loose every once in a while. Its one with a locknut on the back side, thinking I may have to change the locknut.

I will have to check that. I think it's all good, but I'll check

Just to clarify its one that holds a reverse linkage arm, when the bolt it loose the arm twist enough that the sled does not go all the way into reverse and skips. The nut is hard to get at with a wrench.

Below is the reverse linkage arm #31 Sasquatch is referring to I believe, it pivots on a collar bolted through the chain case housing. The nut is a nylock style, even so, sometimes they back off or get overlooked at re-assembly and make this whole linkage system slack causing incomplete reverse shift.
I have read it is also important that the gap between both sets of Hime joints are the same by adjusting #38, the gap should be 27mm if I recall correctly.
Cheers.

Yep dat be the one!

Check the wear on the fork, the ends wear down and make it go out of adjustment.

I have come across that same thing in my group of riders, seen that on a couple apex's, first time I encountered it the one guy took his chain case apart twice trying to figure out what was wrong, he asked me to look at his sled and I checked his linkage and noticed that linkage pivot arm was twisting side ways ever so slightly when trying to shift the chaincase and I tightened the bolt that Sasquatch is refering to and problem fixed.

X2 I have to tighten this on my apex and the wifes vector. It doesn't have to be too loose to make it slip.
