06 Nytro no crank no start

I have a 06 Nytro ER that I bought this year and haven't had a problem with it until recently. I went out to start it and the solenoid clicks, but the motor doesn't spin. I replaced the solenoid and it didn't change anything. I can spin the motor backwards so the starter isn't locked up. It has been a really wet snow and rain recently.

odds are you dropped a magnet in the starter itself and it is jammed. happens.

I'm saying that when I turn the primary backwards, I can hear the starter spinning. Does it do this if it's jammed?

there is a one way gear in the motor that allows it to spin when the engine starts with the starter still engaged.

That is a sure way to compress the timing tensioner and skip a couple links on the chain.
