Installed new CB performance carbides , now have way too much ski pressure, hard to turn, way too much bite in the corners. Can't get the ski's to push at all in the corners. I ran all last year with the stock carbides and handling was all good. Tried floats @ 30lb and 25lb. Is there any options on modifying the transfer rod or I'm going to grind the corners off of the square carbide rod to take away some bite in the front.

Lengthening the straps only works when accelerating.

Really there isn't anything you can do to adjust cruising ski pressure with the monoshock skid (I guess you could change the skid or move the mounting locations...).

Your best bet is to switch to a less aggressive ski with a shorter, small diameter wear bar and a short carbide.

If you found it was what you wanted with the stock OEM carbide (small bar and 4" carbide), try a pair of them again. They don't have anywhere enough bite for me, but they make it much easier to turn the handlebars than just about any aftermarket carbide bar out there.

I just noticed you mentioned "floats".

If you have an 07 or 08 RTX, you are in luck.

Cranking up the preload on the center shock while reducing the ski float pressures will directly reduce ski pressure.

I purposely put duallies on to create a push, then played with air pressure, and have it very predictable and easy to turn. I'm trying a 12 mm bar next to take just a hair of ski lift out (I like some, as long as predictable). What's neat, is steering is adjustable by your right thumb..it can be modulated by accelerating (lighter steering) or decelerating to where you've got good bite. Sometimes I'll touch the brake and stay on the gas in a corner to 'balance' the handling..it works, but I'm not really great at it.....yet..LOL. Takes practice, but these things can handle just fine.

i have my limiter strap pulled tighter by 2 steps from the factory position and its still very loose when i sit on machine,im running my rear skid a little softer than the weight chart says to and im running my front shocks at 25lbs,had them at 40 all last year but played with it the other day and 25 is the answer ,if it pushes in the corner just tap the brake to set the weight and goes wherever you point it with stock 4 inch carbides and skidoo plastic easy steers

Does anybody want to sell there stock carbides! 170 I agree that 25lb's is the answer, anybody that disagree's has probally not tried it. I ran 25 -30 all last year after talking to Jason @ FOX, he said to run them wherever you want (within reason) because they ramp up so much. Tom

Tom I know someone that has an 05 RX-1 that handles great, you might be able to work out some kind of deal and trade that ill handling 06 for the 05. :moon:

I have a modified transfer rod that you might be able to talk me into letting you try out if you want.
