06 Snow Flap vs 07 Snow Flap

Newer flap is better tougher and better looking also only about $27, I also cut off a few inches, very easy, you can reverse all day through powder if you want and it will never get caught even with picks. I'm sure a little more snow is flying behind you.

I let my buddy ride my '07 Apex GT and he sucked the snow flap under the track backing up and didn't realize it until the flap and the aluminum mounting bracket were both mangled!

I believe that the aluminum mounting bracket on the newer sleds is also designed to hold the flap out at a better angle and is cheaper than previous versions just as the newer snow flap is angled better and cheaper than previous versions.

Purchased the following '07 Apex GT parts from my dealer:
8GH-77596-01-00 mounting bracket $44 USD
8GT-K7595-00-00 black snow flap $24 USD

try this with some safety straps it works !
I did this and it works great. In fact my riding buddy bumped into me and the straps held so well it pushed me forward.

I dont know where you guys are buying these cheep flaps... in canuckville they are $89 in yammy book, and the new style aluminum bracket is $35 (replaced mine once already)... but hey... i like hearing about good deals!

I find it strange that your bracket was less expensive in Canada than what I paid here in the US but the flap is so much more in Canada.

Mmmm....maybe I should be selling snow flaps to Canadians?

I'd buy'em..... i was quite surprised when the dealer said that price too.... bought it for my 07 rtx... bent the braket a few times comming off snow banks till it finaly ripped the aluminum...

- I just had to buy parts (long story) for my APex, and they were &680 here in Canada.
- Same part #'s in thru a US dealer were $425.

- WTF???

- My dealer says that Yamaha and Honda parts are and alsways have been more $$ up here.

- All the more reason to buy in the US.

dollar is almost par... good time to buy...

both my apex's were bought new in the US... saved thousands... literally

Flap Trimming

Probably no big deal, but would trimming on the 07 flap cause an parts of the sled cooled by the flap to run too warm?

NO, It shouldn't, u still have front heat exchanger and trimming a few inches off does not have any effect at least in my situation, rode plentyu of miles with it trimmed, wouldn't worry about it, just dont take half of it off
