06 venture start up issue

hey guys, i just bought a 2006 venture and i have a troubling question. everytime i go to start the sled when it has sat overnight, the starter will wind up but the actual motor is not turning over/firing, but once i do get it started after hooking up a charger to the battery and playing with it for awhile, i will run it up to temp and then if i shut it off and turn the key, it fires right up. any ideas? i dont have much knowledge of anything like this. thanks
