- 06 yamaha rage
I bought an 06 yamaha rage in the fall and i want to put a taller seat on it. Ive been looking at the wrp +2" seat kit, but i dont know if this just adds 2" to my stock seat height or if it makes it 2" taller than an apex seat (which is what i want) im not a small guy and the transition from seated to standing right now kinda sucks. Wrp has 2 kits one for my sled style and one for the apex Mountain, but ive heard of guys putting the mountain seats on my style sled so doesnt that mean the seat pans are the same?

Does your Rage have the "lowrider" style seat like my 05 Vector did? If so, IMO your best bet is to do the "Apex tall seat mod" like I and many others have done. You can pick up a used seat from Travis at www.barnofparts.com You have to modify (cut out a section of it) the gas tank cover but it's easy and I have a template (thanks MP!) and still have the section I cut out from my 05 tank. Could send the stuff to you as long as you promise to return it to me.
IMO.....biggest thing will be to determine your best riser height. I went with the stock Apex riser and it's fine for when I'm sitting which is 95% of the time. If I stand I wish I had about a 3" taller riser. You will have to extend all your cables and brake lines but IMO that's not a big deal either.
Notice I didn't comment on WRP Seats? Why? Don't trust them. Too many people on various boards saying the seat foam is too mushy. Also, I question the accuracy of their application charts. They list a seat for my 14 LTX but in reality they don't make one. I found out by calling them and sending them pictures.....that plus a tip from another person here.
