You are correct. I added it to my 07. So by my research, If I go 136, need rail extentions tipped, tunnel extention, anti slip clogs to run track loose or relocate suspension back 4". With all of that I could also relocate my rear cooler I already have

just as I see mentioned by journeyman, geometry?
and as I posted in the other thread "and the stock 'arm' locations on the shorty are ok with it extended to 136?
Wouldn't that throw off the geometry?"
I really really like the idea of using the Muffin Works 136 TIPPED up extensions!!!

My 09 Rtx 121 has a rear cooler stock. I think the tunnel length is the same for 121 and 128, you only need extension on tunnel for longer.

I'm doing the 128 USA combo this year. Most likely with a ripper 2 track. I like to ride the tight twisties in VT. I need a new track. The 128 doesn't require a tunnel extension. Also will replace my drive shaft with one with extroverts on it. That's the plan right now.

Do the Ice Attak XT instead of the Ripper 2, way better hookup.

I have only vaguely seen something on the Muffin Works setup but I haven't really had any issues with cornering on my stock 136. I ride mostly twisty trails in northern Wisconsin and the UP. Not saying the tipped rails are not a good option but just saying I have been happy. I think beyond 136 it is a real good idea. That is what puzzles me about the new 2016's going away from that on the XTX.

I was reading with out the relocation would be harsher ride and have to have the track lose

Mine doesn't ride harsh at all. If anything it makes it a little plusher ride since the rtx was a stiff skid to begin with. I do run extros and my track loose but that's just the way I've done it for years. If you do run extroverts you need to check rail tip to driver clearness so they don't hit.

Thanks for all of the advise everyone

Wish I was more of a picture taking guy instead of a stand back and admire one. The muffin works 144 tipup extensions make the sled turn like a 128 but float like a 144. I never know when I'll be back home but I could try and get some pics for you.

If you're looking to go from a 121 to a 128, I personally wouldn't add any rail extensions. I would just move the skid back in the tunnel a little bit and that's it.
The sled has a steeper angle of attack than most sleds, and that's what causes some off the trenching these sleds are known for. Moving the skid back decreases that angle and helps with off trail too. It's more work than just adding extensions, but the result is worth it. Viper Dave did that on his sled I believe and he was pretty happy with the results. I'll ask him to come in and correct me if I'm wrong here, but that's my vote.

I set a 136 ExpertX back 4" to accommodate a 144 track. This is a common an accepted practice with an Expert skid. Don't know if a stock Yamaha skid can be safely setback. I seem to remember this was a huge debate a few years back. Personally, rail extensions would be much simpler. Unless off trail riding, approach angle isn't that big an issue.

If you relocate buy a good anti-stab wheel kit. Just saying.
