I was running my apex today. I noticed temp gauge come on and I started to lose speed and power and was smelling oil. I shut it down and looked under the front of my sled and saw oil leaking and also antifreeze beside the oil. They didn't seem to be mixed. I thought at first maybe a hose broke but why would there be both oil and antifeeze leaking. The oil was leaking out pretty fast and the antifeeze was also leaking at a good rate. I hope I shut the engine off fast enough as not to do any damage. Does anyone know what might of happened. I have'nt taken anything apart yet.

Hole in the block? Loosing power is a bad sign of overheating and the engine seizing up.

found out one of the problems, stud put hole in heat exchanger, lost all antifreeze. Know need to find out where the oil is coming from. Motor seems to be fine.

mine leaked out all oil today too. i changed the oil last week so im hoping its just that i didnt tightn the filter enough or a hose . oil light came on and i had to call my polaris buddy to come with the trailor. he loved it!
im looking forward to dig into it first thing am. all the oil drained in a matter of 30 min, im a little worried and probably wont sleep so ill end up tearing it apart at 2 am. couldnt earlier cause the gf was here

sounds like a good reason not to stud!
How many miles with studded track? my experience says around 5,000 miles and you're on borrowed time!

Will the newer type track like the Ice ripper do this too! That is lose a stud or pic and put a hole in the exchanger?

Yea I hadn't heard if the little studs come loose, and cause they are smaller will they have the chance at hurting rad?

the studs are to long for the track there more likely to fall out because of it. I didn't put them in a bought the sled like that. All the stud will becoming out. I got the heat exchanger welded and seems to be working good, but looks like I'm going to have to change my head gasket also. Does anyone know how big of a job this is.
