If you guys were to want to replace the stock Proactive skid with any other kind of skid , aftermarket or another OEM skid of any kind (thats been proven to work) what would you guys think? I also don't want to start a great debate either! I ride in all conditions from groomed to trashed out weekend trails ,121 length, 1 1/4" lug height are the plans.
Thanks Rich Kay.

If it were a long track I would go with a EZ Ride skid. But for a short track I would go with a something from AC.

Do you know of someone by chance that has done an AC skid and which particular AC skid was used? I have heard of the cat skid being a choice in this sled (07 apex RTX) . The most important thing is to know proper mounting locations for the geometry of the AC (or any other) skid. I would be of course looking for the more "performance" skid that would have rebuildable shocks for tuning.
Thanks Rich.

For trails, I happen to like the Mono skid a lot, but that's after making quite a few improvements for a more performance minded and confidence inspiring ride. Stock is a great bump absorbing skis bc stock the skid rides like a cushy Cadillac suspension. But after recalibrating the shock it performs great. But I think the favorite after market skids are ZX2 and Expert X from Ad Boivin. But very pricey. And M20 Airwave too. I'd be interested in seeing someone trying out a 141" Crossfire Sno Pro skid with Floats back there in an Apex.

this is my post. still running the same setup. boy do my doo buddies get pist when i cook their a$$e$. ahicks did a pro x skid swap. those are nice skids too. sc10 3 isnt bad. but they just seem to fall apart. i think a 15 inch wide firecat skid would be a excellent upgrade as well. plus you would be running a 128" track.

You can mess with other OEM skids but the best skid is the ZX2 IMO. Turns the sled into a performance beast. Its probably better then boost. Its that good.

Sometimes I wonder if Spending 2,000$ on the ZX2 was worth it. But every time I read a reply from kinger, it just makes me feel better about my decision to buy this suspension. I cant wait anymore to try this thing out.

Dutch - you will love it, leave the settings as they are out of the box and go have fun, fine tune later.
