thinking of buying either a 07 or08 vk is there any difference

Not really I have an 08 and my freind has an 07 The only difference I can see is there is a renenforcment bracket on the tunnel frame but appart from that nothing to see anyhow. There was also a shift kit available for the 07 to make it shift easier . This was a dealer install.
The 08 would be a better choice. The 07 had issues with shifting from high/low/reverse which is now corrected in the 08. Also the suspension is beefed up, with gussets added to the pivot arms for strength.
If you consider the 07, be sure to have your dealer upgrade the gears in the transmission and suspension upgraded as well.
