OK boys bit of a story for this one

So 07 phazer died on 2 weekends ago on the lake , pulled the side panel as it was a wont turn over situation started poking at relays and what not nothing, every time i turned the key the highbeam indicator would come on and it would not turn over. Finally found the problem, it was the yellow ground block was toast. Wiggled it and sled started right up, drove it all the way home then took it to the dealer for the recall.

Dealer did the update and installed the new harness blah blah blah, went out this weekend and the sled just died, it was like riding along and hitting the kill switch.

Sled would not fire up, would turn over no problem just not even a cough. I can hear the fuel pump running but not sure if it is running correctly. The damn highbeam indicator comes on again now for like 3 seconds when the fuel pump primes, sled will turn over but wont fire.

So after looking at the relays took it to the dealer, they said they tried different relays and that its the fuel pump. Fuel pump is 550 bucks and back ordered!

Not happy with this sled, nothing but problems so far, strange vibration when i was riding it, tore the chain case apart and its fine, drive shaft speed sensor bearing is good. Vibe is basically gone now but i didn't do anything.

Any ideas on what else could cause this beast not to run, there are NO CODES either! I 'have another pump to try and don't want to wait for a back ordered one! HELP!?

I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is the same pump that's in most cars. The price is so high because its sold as a complete assembly. I'd remove the pump from the pump assembly and try to match it up at an auto parts store, should only be ~40-50$ if it is the same style. never had mine out to look but other Yamaha products use that style pump. One around 80-100lph should be fine, no need for a 255lph one that will feed a 450hp engine.

Or search Ebay, there is a complete 08' tank on Ebay right now, CHEAP.

If you have a strange vibration and you have an 07 then the holes in the tunnel are causing icing which rubs on the track.

You did not mention spark? Have you checked it for spark.? These four strokes can be a bear if the plugs are toast.

I would start by disconnecting the fuel line and turning on the key. Does it pump fuel at that point? (use catch container or aim away from you) If it does, Fuel is ok. (unless there is a problem with the injectors)....but lets assume your getting fuel.

Pull back the tank and get at the plugs pull a plug and inspect. turn it over and check for spark. Be careful of any fuel...dont want a fire...check both plugs. replace as needed. Maybe a bad coil...

I am an auto mechanic...many times I have had a fuel pump cycle with noise, but no fuel. So it is very possible your not getting fuel. If it turns out your not getting fuel. I would see if you can get a pump only...or do you have the buy the whole sending unit.

Good luck.
