07 RTX GEAR CHANGE ????

WHY would you gear UP???? Its not going to get any faster, its just going to hurt your holeshot.

22 top gear is far to low for lake and radar running.....and its been proven that the 23 top gear is BEST overal for bottom and top end as long as we cut clutches...

22 is stock on 07RTx WITH REVERSE ONLY.....23 is stock on 07 RTX WITHOUT REv...

24 is stock on other apexs.....and anyone on this site knows by now the 23 is what seems to work best overal.

22 has no legs ontop!

Dan, reguardless of cutting the clutches, the 23 gear is better than the 24.

without cutting clutches and 23 gear youre only geared for a thoery of 117....but i did see 120 on gun...I was fully shifted out as I had a mark on my primary that morning prior to running 120...

IF i had cut the clutches prior to the 120 day,it is VERY POSSIBLE i would have gone faster,since i was at END of stock overdrive.....

so when you say 23 is better then 24 with or without cutting clutches,i disagree....a 24 on ice would radar better then a 23 WITHOUT cut clutches....the 23 WINS when you cut them,on top end on ice...

Dan, I have tested it in the same day last year. With the Proline kit in.... I ran it with the 24 and the 23 on a 3000 ft road and the 23 out pulled on top end by 3mph and out accelerated the 24 top gear from bottom to top and that is with NO machining done. There is a reason why most Attacks are faster than most Apex's. A guy on here last year had Proline kits in two Apex's and two Attacks. For some reason he had 4 sleds. The Attacks were faster on ice. He said the attack always ran 121-122 and he could not break any faster than 119 on both Apex's. You may see it if you had a long enough run, like 1-2 miles, but I know the gear is everything, clutches machined or not. That's why 90 percent of the performance people are telling everyone to drop to a 23 or even selling the gear with the kit. The 23 works.

hey bud....yes i totally agree with you!...loving my 23 gear....,funny now most locals here who ALL ran 25s(thinking lakes would be faster) all are now ordering 23s after they saw me run the gun 120+mph...hehe.

local dealer parts woman told me she had 5 calls all in one day for 23 gears...too funny!
