Cold Start Issue??
Last week has been 0-15F temps.
2008 Apex, 3400 miles. Takes 30 seconds of cranking to fire on first start of day.
I turn the key on, let the pump prime once (I can hear it humming and fuel gurgling in the tank) and then crank. No throttle. Turns over a bit slow at first but faster and faster as cranks so I'm assuming the battery is good or it would slow down not speed up.
Restarts fine throughout the day and no other run issues.
Fresh 91 octane Ethanol Free Fuel (have gone through a few tanks now from different gas stations)
Cant image 30 seconds of cranking on an EFI sled is normal....what to look for if not??

I would suspect the battery. Check the voltage with a volt meter. If it reads lower than 12v battery is toast

Do you just hold the starter cranking? I've found that when starting any of my toys (boat, bike, sleds} that a couple few second tries respond a whole lot better than cranking on the starter for an extended time. Less likely to cook the starter windings too.

x2 on battery 1st. there are some guys that have changed out stock battery for one that needs to warm up before it cranks properly.

Old fuel and first start or even when its supper cold it will need to crank quite a bit.

are you running synthetic oil ? Makes a huge difference in cold weather. 2006 apex 30,000kms I cycle fuel pump 2 x 's. No issues starting at -30c
Dont run 91 octae either. Has a slow burn no good for estarting at colder temps
87 oct light off better. I run 87 when in colder weather riding

Buddys apex was the same thing. Proved it was the battery by using a jumper pack on the battery leads. Fired right up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if that was a cold startup and you are shutting it off a few seconds after it starts running, you might be due for some new spark plugs soon.

Also look for a higher CCA battery. A 320 will fit and give you more cold starting power.
