I just bought a 08 Apex LTX GT from the dealer 0 miles,I got it home and realized there is about 4 inches of sag in the suspension,is this normal? You can pick up on the bumper about 4 to 5 inches before the track comes off the ground. My 06 Apex GT only had about 1-2 inches of sag. Anyone else's 136 inch Apex LTX or Attak do this? Just wondering if I need to take it back to the dealer. Thanks for any info

Is it on dollies? If so take it off the dollies and then see. If that is not the problem, I don't know what to tell you. Blown shock maybe?

It wouldn't be the shock, because the shock has nothing to do with keeping the suspension up. It's spring just must be set very very soft i'm guessing.

But make sure you try it when it is off dollies, when i have mine sitting on dollies it does all kinds of goofy things, usually sags ALOT.

I think the spring is set up soft, I will tighten it up and see what happens. I just didn't think it should sag that much before I even sat on it. Anybody know how much I should tighten the spring? it has the EC Ohlins on it.

well i have an attak and thats the amount of sag that i have. i thought it was excessive sag, so i thighen the spring to remove sag. I found the handling and ride had detoriated so i set it back the way it was. My limiter strap is so loose it almost has a C shape.

You should set up your sleds with sag. 4 inches doesn't seem out of the ordinary.

I prefer about 3" with me on it (vs rasing the back so the track is "just" flat on the ground). This is measured at the rear bumper.
What I find is with this setting when the 50+ lbs of ice builds up in the tunnel I get the ~4" that is about right (confirm the sag by measuring the spring length and comparing to the spec).
4" without the ice is too much sag for real world riding IMO.

Set spring to correct spring length. I have my 07 Attack set at about 10.5 inches & rarely bottom at about 230lbs geared up. 10.5 inches for a stock 07 Attack is on the hard side. 07s harder spring & valve setting than 06 & 08 harder than 07. You need to check LTX 08 spring length variables & adjust to middle, long or short depending on your weight. In wet conditions you can accumulate alot of snow in the suspension so allow for that. Seems to happen to me on roads riding back home from trails & difficult to get off unless you have place to thaw sled. You also need to adjust rebound & I like slow rebound to avoid kick. Then you still have transfer to adjust but that is personal choice. My suspension did not loosen up until about 1000 to 1200 miles then it all came together with EC.

I put the stock spring back in.
I'm so light that I used the first clip and third postion on the cam.
No weight on track...spring almost measures 13 inches.
It drops a little when its on the ground ...maybe 2 inches.
My sit in is around 40mm.
Cant wait to try it out,I know its going to be alot better ride now.
