Snowbound One
Newbie
Can anyone recommend ski carbides they have had luck with on a stock yamaha ski. I picked my 08 from the dealer last year and did not pay any attention to what he had on it but liked the performance so far. Currently they are half-lifed and thinking about new already. It appears to be a 1" square steel stock with the bottom face cut off, like a square U channel, then tapered front to back. Can't imagine there was any carbide material ever welded to the edges. They look like two 3/4" knives running down on the snow. I have shopped Woody's, and stock replacements and still no luck finding a similar replacement. Does anyone know of this design or can anyone make some good recommendations to go with a studded Nytro? Sticky notes does not make any mention to this!

I currently have cobra head carbides that are made by Qualipeices and they are very good. They have very minimal darting and go where you point it. I have also heard good things about Snowtrackers although I have never tried them.

sounds like you have shaper bars on it. Maybee duece bars, a pic would help a little but i think if u look up shaper bars from stud boy it is what you have on there. I liked those on my stock skis when i had them.

I had great luck with roetin brand bars last year, 6 inchers with no studs. Not to $$$ and got them at the local dealer. I have studs this year so I might have to get 8 inchers, if e ever get any fricking snow I could find out.

Those are woodys duallies i think. I had them on my rage a while back and they pushed bad in turns. Def fixed the darting. Id try deuce bars from stud boy heard good things about them. No darting and still good bite in turns.

I run six inch shaper bars on my 08' with stock skis, I really like them, minimal darting and very little push in corners. However I am not studded just stock 1.25 ripsaw
