OK my son just got a 08 121 nytro rtx w/fox floats, first off it ran max rpms of 9050 today at around 103 mpg gps on very hard packed snow,in about 1500 feet,he asked me what max rpms should be,i was not sure, but thought around 8700-9000,but he also needs some set up tips,we did tighten up the front limiter strap two holes from stock,it helped it tuen, but man its so darty at speed,it almost feels like its going to twitch ouy right off the sled,ya stock skis, but i am not sure if the toe in toe out is correct or not. Now the rear skid,on both shocks at the top of each arm,has what looks like a adjustable knob with teeth on it,sorta looks like it may adjust rebound, not sure, and the front rear shock has some kind of valve bottle with a cord or cable coming out of it,on the left hand side on the bottom rail, what does that do,and is it adjustable??

That's ok on hard packed... Once it pulls in the snow you'll be right in the sweet spot!
So 9050 on hardpack is good, and in soft snow it will drop to what.

I'd say 87 or so... Try it out but it should be pretty close. The reservoir controls high and low speeds compression.... There's a hex nut on the outside that controls the fast and the little golden flat head inside the hex controls low speed. Both shocks in the skid have those functions... The rear reservoir is built into the shock... Same function. As for adjustments well it explains in the owners manual.

Thanks for the info,he bought it used, and no manual, came with it,man it darts so friggen bad, that at high speed on a lake, feels like it will pitch you right off sled, does this front end respond good to toe out on staock skis with single runner carbides, generally toe in causes darting, but on this sled i was unsure. again thanks, and if someone has pics of the compression hex nut and screw slot please post. thanks pete

I'm running single carbides and honestly I find the sled perfect! I have 75 pounds of air in the floats with my limiter pulled up a couple hles and the back torsion spring at medium.... I also removed the transfer blocks.... Turn like a charm! No pushing at all! And I'm 260lbs.

Where do you have your low and high speed settings on both shocks set at,and which way do you turn the hex nut and slotted screw adjuster, and do you have toe out or toe in set up. thanks,he has the torsion spring blocks set to medium, and limiter pulled up 2 holes, but he only weighs about 175lb max plus gear so maybe 195 riding.

why did you pull the strap down at all?

increasing the ski pressure just over exagerates the darting!!!!!

My set up
you need to lower the pressure in your floats (cant help you on the amount)
front strap leave standard or just -1
rear spring loosen up spring to almost dislocating
my compression is about 3/4 hard and the damping is set medium
my sled handles 100% than stock
The handling also has a lot to do with carbides size type? skis standard after market? etc etc
Give us all the info and youll get answers

I already said in my first post,it has stock skis, but not carbides, everdently it has some very long carbides on it,and it pushed real bad before shortening the strap,he is going to lengthen it back one hole, but needs to check toe out, have not seen where to set the compression settings on each shock, can you show us,with a pic. thanks

A good ski will go a looong way to making it handle better. Keep the front suspension as loose as possible without bottoming all the time. I think there's a ball joint mod for the 08...? A shorter ball joint to increase the camber of the front spindles. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I read about it somewhere. Can't help with the rear suspension, I'm a Phazer guy.
