Hello im thinking of selling my 2008 rev xp renegade 600ho sdi for a 2009 or newer fx nytro mtx 153". I would love to know what the main differences would be between the 2. I love to jump, boondock and throw my sled around. Im not scared of pushing it. Any positive negative feedback would be awesome thanks.

I think it would help if you list the reasons you dislike your XP

I mainly don't like my xp because the body falls apart. Broken side panels/bumper. Crappy clutch. And I'm just looking for something more reliable.

When it comes to motor reliability I don't think there is any doubt that the Yamaha 3 hole 4-stroke has all of Doo's engines beat.
But when it comes to the rest of the sled I think it's pretty even. Doo has some things that they do better, and Yamaha has some things that they do better.
My 800 doo eat TRA rollers for breakfast and they were expensive to replace. But they were nothing compared to replacing ball joints on a Nytro. But I think overall the Nytro will cost you less time punching yourself in the wallet.
[sarcasm] It seems Arctic Cat is the only one making a reliable sled these days.[/sarcasm]

Was riding down at Tumbler Ridge last year and there was a mix of pretty much everything there for sleds, new and old. But there was a guy there running a 09 Nytro 153" stock except for aftermarket exhaust and I'm not sure if it was the sled or the driver but he was going places nobody else could. The way he cut in and around trees in the meadows was awesome and he was climbing as high as the big dogs. Watching that sled perform is what got me interest in the Nytro.

Thats good to hear because i go snowmobiling in tumbler ridge every year. The main thing im conserned about would be the power difference between the nyrtro and my 600.
You will love the sled for mainly offtrail. When in powder your not going to notice the weight difference only in low snow condition's.You will love the power. My fiance just picked up a 08 nytro mtx 2 weeks ago.

The Nytro will have more power than your Doo, but it also weighs 100 lbs more.

You'll have more power with the Nytro, 136-138 hp. Not sure what the power is for the Doo, but most of the newer 600's are in the 120-130 range. Also the power seems a little more consistant with the four stroke. They don't seem to be as sensitive to temp/elevation changes, like some of the two strokes can.
When I had two stroke sleds there were some days when they ran better then others. With the four stroke it runs the same day in and day out
If you want a little more power, then an excell header into a stock muffler will bump it up into the low to mid 140's. It's what I have on mine and I'm pretty happy with it.

i don't know exactly how work the stock mtx because i transform a rtx in a mountain special.
But my modded mtx (without the supercharger) was better than my old (2001) rmk 800 in trail and off trail (except when you got stucked).
So i think that the stock mtx can compete with a 600.
Off course there are things that don't works well but this is common on each brand.
Bot i my opinion the nytro is, in the mix, better than the doos and the poos i've ridden.
