- 08' Nytro RTX 40th Anniversary - Stretched
So I am rebuilding my 08' RTX for the 2nd time since I have owned the sled. It has approx. 13,000 miles on it now. I found that there are super thin, brass possibly, bushings in the aluminum transfer link arms. Three of the (4) bushings crumbled when I removed the bolts from the skid. I don't see these bushings pictured or listed in the Yamaha micro-fish. Has anyone replaced these? If so, from where? Thanks, G.B.

So there was either a steel, brass, or bi-metal bushing crimped into the holes of the aluminum links. Then there were steel spacers that were used with the bolts. I ordered what I thought were the bushings I am looking for that were in the aluminum links but they are steel spacers. Interesting enough, they are a different thickness from the stock ones? The stock ones I removed from sled is the rusty one on the left.

If you look at a picture of the actual arms it looks like they have bushings in them when purchased new, maybe a part that isn’t serviced separately? I looked through a bunch of different listings & don’t see anything different than what we have talked about, the bushings you posted only show fitting newer model sledsThanks, but I need something that looks like the 90381-16002-00 posted above.

Interestingly enough, the relay rods for the 2016-2018 Apex that contain the bushings are similar to the relay rods for the Nytro RTX w/o the bushings:
Apex Relay Rod:
RELAY ROD ASSY
8KM-47490-00-00
BUSH, SOLID
90381-16002-00
Nytro RTX Relay Rod:
RELAY ROD ASSY
8GL-47490-00-00
Makes one think Yamaha initially sold the relay rod and busing as a single part but then later offered the relay rods with or without the bushings (ie. purchase bushings individualy). I would recommend contacting Kevin at Port Yamaha as he is the parts guru and would be able to determine if this is correct and/or the correct part to purchase; assuming it is still available.

Forgot to mention @Gone Blue that I have spares of these bushings and can take measurements if needed.

i have replaced the rods on my 16 once already as there was slop in the bushings and they where not going to be in in time for ty ride i was going to. ordered new rods and they did come with the bushings installed. i did mangle my 1st set from the play and would need to get the holes re sized to put bushings into it.RobX-1, thats what I am thinking, that Yamaha sold you new arms with the bushings installed?

Correct, maim. The relay rods on the 16-18 Apex did come with the bushing installed but you could also order them separate. When I replaced the relay rods in my 18, I also purchased 4 extra bushings with the thinking that I could possibly catch when they go bad and replace befor they enlarge the holes in the rods where the bushings go in. Didn't work out so much so when I purchased the relay rods, I went with Travis of Barn Of Parts, which are sturdier. His too came with them already installed but hopefully with his, we can replace the bushing before it mangles the holes.

@Gone Blue Here you go. Let me know if you need different measurements. Digital caliber is nothing fancy so assume some variance with these numbers. The picture without the bushing is what I was able to sequeeze the bushing/pinch in that gap so as to provide a collaspe measurement:
