Purchased an 08 Vector LTX GT a couple weeks ago and can't wait to ride it!
I got bored a few minutes ago so I decided to go outside to the trailer and fire up the sled. I put the hand warmers on and cranked them up. I can honestly say these warmers SUCK. I had the engine running for about 10 minutes, so it was enough time to get the grips heated. There was warmth, but extremely minimal...Plus it was 45 degrees outside too! My 05 RX-1 was a LOT warmer and it heated up much faster.
Does every one feel their heated grips suck too? I've read a lot of the posts about the grips not producing heat and how guys have used foam or put 06 bars on, etc. Just wondering if anyone experienced cold hands and if you've come up w/ a solution to it without having to do any major and/or electrical modifications.

Grips don't kick in until RPM's are up over 3000. Warmers are not the greatest but they work OK
I do realize the RPM's need to be above a certain figure...However, I failed to mention that I did lift the rear up and put a stand under the sled so I could get the track spinning when I hit the throttle. I didn't rev it up more than 6K, but I would have thought the warmers would have gotten hotter, that's all. Maybe I just need to get the sled on the snow and get her running at operating temp and have it moving w/ the RPMs up enough to see the effects of the warmers?

i have a 06 nitro and the warmers were really bad but i went to home depot/ hardware and bought a thick rubber washer with hole just big enough for bolt removed the end piece and placed between the two and lock tight bolt . this really helped me and was real cheap
