So I ruined my hand warmers I took them off and unplugged them. Dont really want to put heated ones back on, but the yellow light and check engine code 81 keeps flashing on the screen. Is there a way to get that to stop without getting heated grips?

I think by just turning them off will clear it. If not, maybe putting a resistor like the ones for Hot Grips, of about the same value as the grips on the plug will do. Just don't turn them on or it will heat up.

Is it going to hurt it if jus leave them unplugged and let the light flash?

No, doesn't affect anything else except the light and code flashing. And if anything else should go wrong, you might not notice it.
