I took mine out today for first long ride 160 miles, sled brand new, my wife was driving out apex rtx, both sleds used exactly the same amount of gas, my cousin was riding a 09 skidoo TnT 500ss and on the last fill the venture used 16 dollers and the tnt used 22 dollers, I was impressed that a sled that is almost double the size is that much better on fuel.

the tnt 500SS is almost 600cc's, and Skidoo did a serious detune on it for 09.

My new RS venture gets 15-16 MPG with 2 riding really hard. It just rolled 1000 miles so I will post if it gets better next season.

Tom,
Your motor is just getting broken in. Riding hard two up are probably good numbers. Much is certainly based on snow conditions and riding style.
I rolled 3,000 miles solo touring today and have seen averages from 18 - 21.95 mpg on the following trails:
Hard base trails with just enough lubrication.
Hope this helps!
