I have a 09 xtx with a backcountry track1.75 ,full excell exhaust,PC111 and ingnition mod, I am running stock clutching, i don't hit the rev limiter on the trail on deep snow only if a hammer it from dead stop and it is real icey, is it worth changing the weights, if so to what weight and how many grams are stock ones,( hard packed 8800 to 9100 rpm), is it worth it to put cr10ek plugs

you should change your muffler bearings and gain a few pounds and that will drop your rpm right where you need to be. also running your tall windshield will cause resistance and drop rpm..

hope this helps

your neighbourhood helper...lol

hey "zimmer"..lol

You want to clutch for your average riding style, If you like to play in the loose snow you would want to clutch your rpms higher than trail riding to be where you need to be in the loose. You want 8800-8900 to be your target. Clutching rpm for all circumstances will not happen. Studs help to keep you somewhat consistent on roads/trails but with that backcountry track your kinda tall to stud.

There is alot of info if you do a search on some clutching combinations that ppl have tried and had noticeable gains. I have been there done that and have the parts with adjustable weights for a trail set up. Or you can spend some money on a kit from the vendors. Don't be cheap!!!lol

And yes the cr10's are dyno proven to get you 1-2hp.

You know all this!!
