1.450 STUDS W/ STOCK RIPSAW

will the 1.450 studs hook up that much better than 1.325?, won't you loose top end? how about hitting the tunnel?
 
You will not lose any top end... You will gain huge hookup on hardpack compared to 1.325's... Night and day difference... You will hit the exhaust shield, but I hit that with 1.325's, which is the supposed recommended stud from Woody's...

so you don't have to add anymore to your tunnel protector's? do you have a pic of your exhaust shield damage?
 
You can add 1/8"thick x1" wide x 4ft starting from the front to the back if you want to, but alot of guys don't even bother... No I don't have a pic...

so worst case i rip the exhaust shield right? even if i don't add anymore tunnel protection

Yep, but I have not even heard of that happening..
