I stretched my Apex to a 128 and added a Cobra track with 170 1.450 studs. It's excellent in the trails and hook up is impressive. Unfortunately I am hitting a wall with that Cobra track at 113-114 MPH on GPS. Curious what others are running that is somewhat comparable to a Cobra but can get me some of my top end back. It'll also need to be available in a 128 length. FYI - I have ran the hacksaw in the past and it just doesn't hook up good enough for me. Thanks!!

I also have a cobra on my attak with 162 studs down the middle with stock gearing and extrovert drivers and 111-113 is what I get on the stalker radar gun. With the ripsaw I could only get 114.
Those studs do slow you down.
The bite of the cobra on the trails is great and off trail is way better.
Were you on dry snow or just ok hardpak or ice with little lube?

Consider a 1" Predator. Good loose snow performance, able to run shorter studs with no loss of performance, and the much shorter paddles will cause much less pumping on top.
You cant have your cake and eat it too! What kind of top end do you need? Trail riding and speed runs generally require different sleds.... 1" track on the trail will not make you very happy.

Your out of 'stock' options but I was thinking about a crossver 1.5 track with lugs cut to 1.25 and then studs. The track is fairly hard and many say it hooks up hard as a 1.25 predator with studs just by itself. Only issue is its only available in a 144 and 151" length.
Otherwise you got the best track going. 114mph is nothing to shake a stick at.
My cobra with 144 studs and my supercharger I hit 120-125 in any snow, get on ice or a plowed road I hit 140-150 on the dreameter.

Thanks guys. I just don't like getting run down by a stocker on a long run and was hoping there was something out there where I could pick up a couple MPH and not lose too much on bottom. I do my top speed runs on a railbed so it is hard and flat. I think I would try the Carve next, but it doesn't look like it comes in 128. I did more research and I think I am going to have to stick with what I have.

Those studs are killing the top end. I had them in mine and i really noticed a big drop on the top.
