My first and only post on TY, a year ago was to proclaim my newb status...Just wanted to say, even though I'm not a super active forum user (I stay VERY busy in the summer), this site has been a priceless commodity in my yamaha/snowmobiling learning curve.
I purchased my first mtn snowmobile last season as a fun project to keep me busy in the winter, and to pick up a new hobby after being in Southeast Alaska for a few years and primarily only focusing on my seasonal business. I purchased a pretty cherry rx mtn 151, and started digging in.
As she sat when I bought her:
After spending a few days reading up on TY, and getting brave:
I didn't get any pictures of my custom fabrication of the rider forward kit after following Kachess's builds, tunnel extension, skid extension, or skid rebuild/refabrication after breaking the front cross member mount on the holz suspension, or making the r6 carbon fiber/side exit exhaust work in the sled... but here are some post op pictures.
Custom carbon fiber (ebay special) r6 side exit exhaust (the mid pipe was a perfect fit, didn't modify the r6 pipes at all!) and Mountain Assault Apex seat with integrated led brake light:
Peek-a-boo bottle:
How she sits today:
Where I get the pleasure to ride
Its been a fun ride! I don't plan on putting too much more money into this sled, but it's been a great introduction into the world of Mtn Snowmobiling, and being the only 4 stroker last year was a lot of fun, especially highmarking a lot of vets on their 2 strokers. Next year, I think I'm going to go ahead and put a down payment on a Nytro MCX turbo from, but the RX1 will stay in the stable!

Love the look of a black sled, and I wish I could have a place like that to ride.

Nice sled and beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks guys! I love this sled! Until the new arctic cat's get here, i'm the only 4 stroke in town and it always throws people for a loop.
Everything I own is black, the SV1000 in the back, my titan, my mountain bike... haha.
