Ok, I've been trying to get an idea on total range for a tank of fuel on the wife's Vector.
It's been averaging around the 15-16 mpg (US) and checking the specs of 9.2 gallon tank.
Being conservative.
15 mpg x 9 gal. = 135 miles
Talking to one of the members of my club who has owned his '12 Vector for 2 years now says the tank may hold 9.2 gal. but it won't pick it all up.
He claims to have run the tank dry on 2 occasions and the most he could put back in was 29 litres (7.7 gallons).
Farthest we have gone so far was a little over 100 miles and put in 25.5 litres.
Does this guy have a problem with his pickup or is he right?
I'm trying to figure out if my 1200 will run out of fuel first or the Vector.

First time I have heard of that Blackstar?
From what I have read on here, once snogirls sled is on the last bar and the light flashes, she should have at aleast another 30 to 50km's of riding before she will actually run out?
I also believe her pod/gauge will tell her how many miles/km's she has ran since her light came on?

Yes, at one bar, the light comes on and it starts to count. Both times this happened we were at or around 100 miles but then fueled up with in a couple miles.
This is what started the conversation with the guy from my club since I had remembered him running out twice last year and he wasn't happy.
He had sold his Apex to go to the Vector because he wanted more range from a tank. Then he found out that they had shank the tank down. He says the Vector can't go as far as he did with the Apex.
He swears he can't get more than 29 litres in a tank and he says that he has seen his empty fuel counter go as far as 60 kms before he ran dry.
I'm just looking for some input from others.
Maybe his sled is just a fluke.
With what we have seen at 100 miles, if we can go another 35 on the counter before running dry then the math works out that we are using all 9 gallons.
100 miles used 6.7 gallons
Then 9 gallons should take us 135 miles or so.

EPA requirements mandated a smaller tank by requiring a double wall inside.

The math works for me. I have '12 Vector and last week the light came on about 100 miles. I rode it for another 15 miles and added 7.5 gallon. I figure I have about 2.5 gallons or 40 miles left before it is empty.

I.m experiencing about the same as Vector LTX above me here, except this weekend we did 75 miles in a bunch of off trail powder. As I got back to the trailer I noticed that the get gas indicator was at 1 mile and I had 2 bars but it may have bounced down to 1 bar to start the countdown.
My 06 Rage used to get a ton more range, more like 180 miles. I kinda miss that.

The 2012 Vector gas tank is different, because of the power steering, so no other years will fit. They will go 125-140 miles on a tank depending on conditions.
