My 06 Apex gets between 14-15 MPG and my 08 Nytro gets between 16-17 MPG. These numbers do increase when riding groomed trails at steady speeds without too many WOT blasts.

I did 65 miles one way and got gas. Took exactly 5 gallons. So I guess 13 mpg. Very agressive riding.

In the first 5000 miles, I would always get 16-17 mpg. Since then, it is rare to get 16 except in Old Forge, typically 15. I am normally gentle with the throttle on trails but do like to rip it up at times. My buddy's 600 carbed H.O. always takes 2-3 gallons more after 100 miles of riding. His Nytro gets 18 mpg.

I suspect many on here are being very optumistic with their numbers. Just my opinion. It's a 996cc 4 cylinder engine that like to rev at 10k or 11k++ rpm's all day long. These sleds are very thirsty at those rpms.
Did anyone really expect their Apex to greater than 14 mpg at best? I always use more gas than any of my buddies on Nytros. I'm about the same as low hp 2 strokes. But I get better than 800 class 2 strokes, and much better than my triple piped Mt Viper, which is even thirtier yet.

Worse I saw with my 06 Attak was 9. That was running a lake with only 2" of snow and a lot of track spin. Most of the time, even with hard riding in the 12-14 mpg range. Very happy with that for the amount of power I have.

I have seen 4 to 5 mpg and was praying and taking it easy once we got back to the trail so i would make it to the gas station. I was surprised to find i had a gallon left upon fuel up. dam powder
I have also done just trail days and taking it easy with my daughter on board and didn't seem like the gas gauge even moved in 30 miles.
It all comes down to where the flipper is
I'm really surprised that anyone would consider gas mileage associated with snowmobiling kinda like buying a Lamborghini and driving 10 mph under the speed limit to save fuel

I get about 12mpg riding hard. What I do now, because I have run out before is fill up whenever I come across a gas station and start looking and not driving so hard around 100miles. I wish they did get more cause it seems I'm always so far away from gas at about a 100 miles but hey you cant have the best of both worlds, you want power you need gas. LOL

I just purchased an 06 Apex and find the fuel consumption very low. Went riding on the weekend with an F5, Formula 500, ZR 700 and an SRX700. The Apex got much better mileage than any of these sleds so I'm happy. The Skidoo Formula 500 burnt double the amount of fuel. Those things are pigs on fuel for some reason.

I have run out of fuel at under 100 miles. Lake runs REALLY eat up fuel.

Just did 140.7kms on my '09 GTLTX with a Yamacharger. (Low fuel lite came on at 132kms). Filled machine up and it took 27liters, so figuring about 15 mpg. That was on a not well used trail with some powder and some WOT spurts, quite a few actually!

Best I got is 21 per Imp.gal. on a day in March on great groomed trails with a bunch of guys trying to conserve gas. The best was a 05 Vector with 25 miles per gal. I usually average 16 !!!

- So...I usually fill up when at 1/4 tank.
- I get worried, and don't want to get stranded.
- Anyways, yesterday I got into a low gas situation and had to book it back to the truck, (about 25kms) with the light on the whole way.
- I was crapping my pants!
- Made it ok, and when I filled her up, it took approx. 29litres.
- Just how big are these tanks?
- I saw somewhere that the bars on the guage were 1/gallon??
