Thinking about upgrading my 121" track to a 136" track from Hartman, Inc. Is there that much of an improvement in the "off trail" conditions with the 136" track? The warriors weren't out until the "04" and they are stock 136". Don't really want to trade in my sled for a Warrior if I can upgrade with I already have!

Looking for some imput before making a purchase. :o|

I was in the same situation as you but had a buyer for my 03 so I bought a Warrior. You will love the added length. It helps in every area; ride, floatation and traction. I now need to address the front end sinking :ORC Maybe some simmons ski's.

I did the same thing. What a difference. If you are going to do the work yourself, go for it. If you are hiring the work done, I would say buy a Warrior. The time it will take paying someone else is excessive. You will not regret it. The sled is as straight as an arrow. No wiggling the backend around when you going down the trail. Very predictable. The best mod I have done to the sled to date.

My recommendation is go with the Warrior as the cost difference should not be that much. You will be investing in sojmething that has a low resale even if you mod it, the Warriors have a much better resale success plus the extensions do not give you the ride of the Warrior.

Do the mod. I did to my 03 and have no regrets. To me, there wasn't any down side. With this sled I think that I've finally gotten away from the "I need a new sled every two year syndrome". This engine should last for a very, very long time. When or if, it ever gets boring it will get a turbo.

I agree with the statement about being able to do at least some of the work yourself to make it worth it cost wise. The warrior has a better ride but some of that is due to the better seat. I think the Warrior suspension will be history next year. Also think about having your 03 seat redone to add some foam; cost me about $50 CDN. When you pick a track, get a good one like ripsaw or 9834 in 1.25" and consider the extrovert drivers and the fourth rear idler. The difference in traction, control, etc. is worth it. You will have to redo your rear suspension adjustments as you will likely find you will have more transfer than you want, etc. What I would really like to do is to put a lengthened Vector suspension in or I guess even a Venture one.

For once JIM you and i both agree on something..

GET THE WARRIOR!! ... Once you add the longer track you will need to get 11m sway bar and longer links and the sled will handle differently!! Plus you still have the 03 seat! The extra cost isnt worth it!!

.... and you're both wrong :D
If I had an 03' I would stretch it out, and I'd be setting it up exactly like LB's (a 144" track using a 136" skid). The other thing I'd be adding is extrovers (I think I'm going to add them to my Warrior).

As you can see from the description below "Been there done that" and now adding M10 Onlins 136". If you can sell and get a decent price do so and upgrade. If you are happy as is fine but if you want to improve it is a never ending saga. Nobody was offering much for mine so I went this route.
