I've been curious as to just how well the 129" length track on the RTX models has been working out off trail.

I know the 136" LTX and 141" XTX models are going to do better off trail, but would like to know just how the shorty 129" does in the deeper snow.

Any RTX owners who've had any time going off trail (intentionally of course:) care to chime in?

I have been in some pretty deep snow with mine and have yet to get stuck. I have actually been pretty surprised by it. I have a buddy with a new etec 800 and he gets pissed when he gets stuck and I just go right thru it.

Mine has been working awesome off trail , gets on top of snow good and quick , it floats very well and I don't think the 137 has much over the 129 as far as off trail goes !
Also carves very good

I agree this sled gets on top snow very well. Has a ton of transfer if setup for it.

All you guys are lying, or not going through enough snow...lol... I have been stuck three times! And all I was really stuck! No fun, really I got out of all them pretty easy. And with little effort. And the Viper does seem lighter in this situation!!

Thanks guys for your input. I'm considering one for next season and appreciate any real world experience from actual RTX owners. With all of the snow that's been put down this year I was hoping that I'd get some comments.

With this chassis and skid combo it seems like even the 129" shorty can hold it's own going off trail occasionally. That 1.6" lug Cobra looks good. I've run Cobra tracks on some of my other sleds and they do great off trail.

I think it works very well. A few weeks ago we broke about 30 miles of trails with 2-3 feet of fresh snow with now issues. The sled got up and out real well. It does need a few more ponies for that type of snow but overall I was impressed. Once the sno x track goes on it, I think the sled is going to be awesome.

I got my LTX really stuck! Knocked the snow down in front and drove right out.

Like the other pic I saw this wasn't your fault the skis fell through, otherwise front would be up and track spun in. 7 inch skis are great if you do much powder riding.

jed when you planning to install snox track? looking for feedback
