Has anyone tried extending their 129 sidewinder to a 137? I’m wondering a couple things:

1. Is it possible without a tunnel extension
2. Has anyone seen rail extensions to go from a 129-137

Thanks

Sorry, but I have to ask, what would be the purpose of doing this? What are you trying to gain by going to 137? It wont handle better or have any more traction.

You would probably be better off switching the drivers to 2.52 and going with a 128 track, it will have 51 rows of lugs/windows vs 48 on a 137 or 45 on a 129.

Would this give the transfer of a 129, on a 137 ?

Looking for a little more traction, bump bridging, plus there seems to be a ton of 137 tracks for sale. Found a nice ice attack. Seems the 137 would have a little more traction but maybe not enough to make this a worth while venture??

I have a 1.5” 129” track for sale in the classifieds if you want more traction.

Ya there does seem to be a lot of 137 tracks for sale, I did notice that. My sled is a 129 and my brothers is a 137, they ride pretty similar, and we are neck and neck for just about every race. Doesn’t seem to be a difference traction wise to be honest.

The 129 skid transfers better than the 137 skid so stock to stock I believe those 2 would be close but I bet a 129 extended to 137 would hook better than a factory 137.

Maybe it would hook better. You only have 1 more lug on the snow going from 129-137. In my opinion the better option would be switching to 2.52 pitch 128 track and you would have 2 more lugs on the snow without possibly ruining the handling characteristics of the sled or weakening the skid.

I'm not disagreeing with that. I'm just thinking an extended 129 might hook better than the 137

The 129 does transfer better than a 137. No doubt there. There is a long discussion about this in the Viper section. But if you are looking for better hookup, you’ll benefit more from a taller lug than you will from staying at the same lug height and stretching to 137. That 1 more lug that the 137 has on the ground is almost negligible with regards to hookup.
