Well I am up in the UP and we found some VERY deep snow....got to really put the 136x1.75 phazer to the test. It is a great deep snow sled now.very easy to throw it around and carve the snow.....It pulled the track fine and pulled itself out of some very deep snow with no problems....I put a Ulmer Clutch kit on and a 17tooth top gear....also went one setting higher/tighter on the secondary....pulls 11400 or so at WOT on the trail and GPS speed of 68-70....I am very happy and this is a much better sled now than before...I also have a sledsolutions float plate on....helps a lot...still running stock skis....
Anyone thinking of putting a longer track on, even if you trail ride, I would highly recommend it....much better on the trail too...
later....

kinda, try climbing with it and see what happens, not trying to dis ya but i have the 144 mtn lite and it stinks climbing, needs hp and track, Going to drop a 2 stroke in it this summer
I felt the way you did about the ability of the 144 to climb. First you must understand the 144 maverik is a piece of s..t. All the paddles on it aren't even 2 inch and the paddles are so thin they bend over backwards, and there isn't very many paddles either. I promise you if you put a challenger track on this machine 2inch, 2.3 or a 2.5 you will be amazed! This sled has plenty of tork to turn a beefy paddle and if you put a 17 tooth top gear it even does better. I have a 151 2.3 inch challenger and it climbs like a bat out of hell! I still get a top speed of 77mph. If you want this sled to perform you got to put good parts on it. If you had a 144 maverik on a skidoo it would be a piece of s..t too.
