I have a stock one and yesterday I picked up a travel trailer. Weighs about 6600 lbs. When I look at the spec sheet it says Hitch is 720-is that tongue weight and what exactly is tongue weight?

Problem is the front end is light so I am going to have to do something-airbags? Not a fan of them as ride is rough when empty. Any other suggestions?

And I do have a weight distribution receiver with a sway bar. Do you switch the sway bar to on?

The tongue weight capacity is the maximum vertical weight that the hitch can support. so that means the weight it delivers at the hitch point should not exceed 720. if you have 720 lbs right on the tongue you wouldnt be able to get it off of there without some sort of hitch jack or hydrolics. the only way to find out if you are going to need some extra suspension is to try it out and see how she squats. to much you will need some help. but dont worry airbags have come a long way in the last few years and if done correctly it would have a stock feel while unloaded but be much more manageable with a load beind you

airbags are completely unnoticeable when unloaded as long as you air them down, and can make a huge difference when loaded up. Having an onboard air compressor kit with a switch in the cab makes the adjustments much easier, and saves you from forgetting to air them down after unloading.

After further review-it looks like we hooked it up wrong.. Word is I should drop it onto the truck and lock it down, raise the load up as far as possible and then mount the bars. We'll give that a try before getting excited about my suspension.
