Trailering RX1

HAHA sorry, when I said FREEZE, I didn't mean with ice. It was frozen with rust. I tried penetrating oil, I tried heat, I tried leverage....nothing worked. I had to finally cut them off.

I like the idea of the D rings though, these stupid bars have been driving me NUTS.

Replace with the same thing, but made out of stainless.

RXKID, how do these install? I'm not I understand how they are securing the sled (I know it does, not asking that) where does it attach to the sled to secure it? Does it use the existing bar? I like the idea of it working in ten seconds, but not sure I want to spend $230 to do that.

LB, I don't really have a way to replace the existing system. Otherwise, that would be the way I went haha. Basically my trailer has a slot in it, where there is a nut that is attached on aluminum rails, to allows the nut to be positioned in different positions in sled based on where sleds are. Then bar, and there is a bolt that you screw into this nut. Unfortunately, when it froze with rust all my other options for taking this bolt out didn't work. I ended up trying to force it after using heat and penetrating oil for a couple of days, and it bent the bolt that goes into it. So, I had to cut the bolt. In order to get to the rails where that nut resides (to replace) the only way I can see to do it is to remove the welded alumimum shield underneath the trailer and then remove the welded rails. I don't see any other way to get to this nut, unless I remove the wood floor, which again does not seem possible as a fix. I am definitely open to any suggestions on how to replace with OEM, but I can't see how to do it.

they are very easy, they bolt right to the trailer bed and all you do is flip it over the ski and lock in place. it's the best clamp out there you never have to open the front window or be on the trailer to lock the sled in place. they are worth every penny!

I would NOT go without tying down the front AND the rear. I hit a decent sized frost heave and the rear grab bar did a nice job on the back of my trailer. Safety first. It doesn't matter how quick you can unload your sled if its messed up! I'm installing D's front and rear on my enclosed.
