Just want to give some of the other guys using or thinking about using this track a heads up. I've got less than 200 miles on mine and it is ripping apart already.
It's a camoplast challenger 151 X 15 X 2 made for ski doo. Got it new. I suspect the problem may be that I exposed the wooden dowels inside when I cut the track down to make it narrow enough for the phazer. Maybe the wood is getting wet and thawing and freezing and is making the track come apart. It is happening only on the left side of the track it seems. I did accidentally cut the left side about an 1/8" more than the right, but every dowel is fully exposed on both sides. So I'm a little puzzled why the left side is coming apart and the right isn't. I haven't been on any bare roads or really hard or thin trails and I've gone easy when I was. I think I lean the sled pretty evenly to the right or the left when I ride.
I was worried about exposing the wood when I cut this track down but didn't come up with any way around it so I went ahead. It's looking like this track is going to go even quicker than the stock one.

sorry to hear that. I thought the rods were fiberglass??? I have never seen wood?? I have over 4000 miles on my challenger and it looks like it did the day I bought it. Maybe your sled wasn't happy you put a polaris track on it?? LOL!

I thought they might be fiberglass also. But they certainly look like wood now all chewed up and split.

Looks like you had to cut into the paddles, and that will never end well. That sucks! When are companies going to start making more tracks for the Phazer. Not like there is only two out there!!!!

No. It is only like that on the left side. (so far) At least a third of the paddles and the dowels on the left side are coming apart. As I said I did cut into the left side a little more but I was into the paddles on both sides.

wow i had no idea there was wood in there
is that the challenger extreem? If so aren't they sapposed to be lighter weight? maybe that is why it has wood instead of glass rods????

Since its an OEM Skidoo track I wonder if it isn't make slightly "cheaper" with wood to save costs? If Skidoo, or any other manufacture, can save 5$ per track by doing that they WILL. Just like the tires on a New Car might look identical to the ones you buy off the shelf and install, they probably are NOT, the model number might be slightly different.

I suspect you are right. It is definitely oem. It has the Bombardier logo in the track.
No Tbyrd, I'm pretty sure this isn't the extreme. It isn't light.

I just cut up a 15x144 2.5 ce and the rods in that are def fiberglass. I can't believe someone would think wood rods would be a good idea I could see those breaking like crazy.
