I just swapped over to a 156" camo extreme with a Timbersled skid, and Ice age rails with 8" wheels. What are you guys doing to take up the slack. I have my tensioner's maxed but it's still not enough, I need another inch or two.

If you dont mind me asking, how much money do you have in the swap? Did you do it yourself and if so how difficult was it? I am considering making the same changes.

I did it all myself. And being that our dollar took a dump I had to pay way to much!
rails,wheels,timbersled,track,drivers= $4800

The swap if fairly easy. just takes time.

I am doing the same swap this weekend and have a "Freedom" axle from Mountain Machines which allows you to use 9" wheels on the rear. This should take up about 1.5". I'll repost when it's done.

That was my thought as well...

Are your timbersled rails stock length? I was running a 156 with the stock rails and the stock rear wheels. The tensioners were maxed but it didnt ratchet. I have a freedom axle with 9" wheels now and i have lots oF adjustment.

the rails are stock length but made for 8 inch wheels, so I'm running some cat 8" composite. The track looks to loose, but I have never ran Avid drivers before, I don't know how much I can get away with? also I'm assuming the track will stretch being that it's new?

also is moving the skid back an inch or two going to hurt anything? I thought that I read that this can cause a huge headache? I just ordered a freedom axle and wheels but if I can get away with this I'll do it and probably save myself 400 beans.
