What does a person do about the drop plates at the back of the tunnel when trying to fit a 16 wide track ?

You will need to get different drop brackets for it to fit. Cut down 2 of the chain case bolts that stick into the tunnel. MPI or Spec Sled sells them. I have a 16" wide in mine, but I have a different tunnel.

Thx Red. Nice sled. I'd like to see some more pics of it.How do you chris' tunnel?

Meat, I have wondered the same thing. I have the MPI drop down backets and there is barely a 1/4" on each side between the track and the brackets.
I would need a 15 1/2" track for it to fit.
I wish camoplast would make a 15 1/2" wide by 159 or 162 finger track.
Let us know if you figure it out.

I got an idea from a guy on snowest. I'm going to press the original ones flat and that should give me enough clearence.

We just need MPI, Hartman; Eckholm or Holtz to design billet drop brackets that are stepped slightly to accept a 16" track and we are set!

Make me some and I'll be first in line.

I thought Holtz had some drop down brackets that would let the 16" wide track fit.

I heard of guys just putting washers between the bracket and shaft and have had no problems. They just made sure the had equal numbers of washer on eithier side. They said it was kind of a pain spreading the tunnel that little bit but once done they had no troubles at all.
I would go with the MPI light weight drop brackets but if you are running short on money the washer thing works.

drop brackets

buy the ones from specality sled in alberta.
also get the spacers

a bit pricey but will do the job.

there billet aluminum that are stagered aith spacers there's still some room with a 16" wide in stock tunnel
