162" on stock nytro

Will I lose a lot of track speed if I go to a 162" track? I plan on using a hartman clutch kit and would be around 8500'. Also what does everyone prefer for a track on a stock nytro, if I stay 153 im just going to flip my track around. Thanks

am sure you ahve read it on here, but for me, and going wiht a 162" powerclaw....lots are going with the 2.5" Challenger Extreme...

lots depends upon the ride you want, and the type of snow you want to perform best in...

but yes, you will lose some speed, but more than likely with clutching and possibly gearing you can overcome that...assume your sled is not boosted, if boosted, you wont notice the track speed...

Do not waste your time with flipping your Maverick track around! The lugs will fold back after a few rides!

I'm going 162 myself with 8" wheels !

Now I have to decide between the CE or the Power Claw ??? Tough choice!

the 156 would also be a great option..16 or 15 wide in the 2.5" lug should rock.

i would like to go to a 156x16 from my 162x16...but then need rails...and well...the cost of the track itself is rediculous.

a buddy from herer TTabs has a 156x2.5x16 for sale very reasonably...pm him...

great track, and will perform very well...with stock motor, you will not tell the difference between the two tracks (156 vs. 162)...

Hmmm, on my Rev 159 to 151 was HUGE difference FOR ME in pulling it over and holding carves/doing donuts..

Unless your saying the engine will work fine w/ either or...and not bring in any personal factors. Which is how I may be reading it now after a few reads.

yeah engine will be fine, but the climbing one versus the other wont be monster differences...the big difference will be going from maverick to CE or to PowerClaw...

but as for carving, an maneuverability it will be a big difference...but it all depends upon what you want yoru sled to do...it is all balance and compromises right.

exactly..what YOU want it to do is key. Or how you want it to do it.

I'm afraid shorter than 162 will be more of a skili machine..and thus a bit scary up some of the steep.. I'll have to ride "someone I know"s MCX nytro with the 156x16 setup and see. maybe with skid setup and straight rails it'll be doable.

A RB3.

I've had to do a bit of fooling with fuel pressure (running the extra tank/pump setup) and the fuel mapping (using the Pure Logic controller).

The Prologger is great..simple, easy.. Great tool for tuning.

Paul has been awesome with support whenever I have questions. Phone, email, or PM via SW...all quick responses. That says a lot when spending 5-7k on a SINGLE aftermarket mod/item.

Being that I'm coming from the Carbed 800 Rev, the button pushing and screw turning aspect of "tuning" is a bit different, but quite well excepted!


Still learning the Yamaha clutching side of things. and Yamaha's in general. But as the Impulse kit itself, as a whole. I'm very happy with it. I was close to going MCX, but this worked out better for me in the long run..and so far 1100 or so miles, its still working great! But coming from a 2s, I may be easily impressed. lol
